DEVELOPMENTAL MILESTONE
Azikel Power is a pioneer Private Power Plant Project in Bayelsa State with a size and design of 500MW and Simple and Combined-cycle combustion turbine respectively. Being a private pioneer in this venture in Bayelsa State is associated with its peculiar challenges. Azikel Power has since broken the ground with landmark completion of milestones. They are to wit:
- Power plant site size of 80 acre of land have been procured at Gbarain, Near Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
- Plant site clearing completed.
- ESIA approval has been obtained form the Federal Ministry of Environment
- Power evacuation studies have been completed and provisional approval granted by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

- ite Survey, Topographic, Bathymetric (Nun River), Geotechnical, GIS Mapping, Noise & Gaseous Emission Modeling have all been completed.
- Project Technical Consultant and Owner’s Engineer, “ENERGOPROJEKT-KATOWICE” SA from Poland has been recruited from a competitive process.
- Collaboration Agreement executed with GE with a proviso for Equity Investment by GE
- Choice of Technology and Systems from GE
- Land title (Certificate of Occupancy) perfected
- Power Generation License obtained from Nigerian Electricity Regulation Commission
- Technical specification documents that would lead to the selection of EPC and O&M finalized by EPK of Poland. Companies that responded to the EOI for EPC evaluated.
- Engagement with the Gas Aggregator Company of Nigeria (GACN) is at advanced stage. Response to GACN due diligence documentation submitted.
- Engagement with SHELL Petroleum Development Company is at advanced stage.
- PPA – Preliminary discussions held with NBET
- Registration of the project under the Power Africa Initiated.
